Success

Keys to your successful climb

A strong climb depends on fitness, determination, and how the body responds to thinner air.

Pole Pole (Move Slowly)

The simple things matter most: drink water, eat well, rest when asked, and move slowly one step at a time. Pole pole means slow down, and on Kilimanjaro it works.

Swift Response & Safety First

Specialist rescue insurance can be arranged for rare serious difficulty. The first trusted remedy is still swift descent.

FAQ

Everything you need to know before your Tanzania journey — from booking to what to pack.

What should I pack for Mount Kilimanjaro?

Pack using a 2-bag system: a 30-35L daypack carried by you and an 80-90L duffel bag (maximum 15kg / 33 lbs) carried by porters. Essential gear includes broken-in waterproof hiking boots, moisture-wicking base layers, an insulated down jacket (-10°C to -15°C), waterproof outer shells, UV category 3/4 sunglasses, headlamp with spare batteries, and warm thermal gloves. Gear rentals are available in Moshi.

What are your mountain safety and altitude protocols?

We follow a strict Safety-First Protocol on every climb: twice-daily health checks with pulse oximeters, emergency medical oxygen cylinders, certified Wilderness First Responders, and mandatory AMREF Flying Doctors emergency evacuation coverage.

What is included in your Kilimanjaro climb packages?

All park entrance fees, camping/hut fees, rescue fees, 18% VAT, private round-trip airport transfers (JRO), 2 nights hotel B&B in Moshi, certified guides, porters, cooks, 3 freshly prepared hot meals daily, purified drinking water, and high-quality 4-season geodesic tents with 1.5-inch mattresses.

What vehicles do you use for Tanzania wildlife safaris?

We operate custom heavy-duty 4x4 Safari Land Cruisers with pop-up roofs for 360° photography, on-board cooler/mini-fridge with chilled drinks, high-frequency two-way radios, wildlife guidebooks, and USB charging ports at every seat.

What are the essential travel regulations for Tanzania?

Tanzania enforces a strict nationwide ban on single-use plastic carrier bags (use reusable cubes). Drones are prohibited in all national parks without TCAA/TANAPA permits. Tourist e-Visas cost $50 ($100 for US citizens). US Dollars must be printed in 2009 or newer, crisp and unblemished.
