Overview

The 4-day Mount Meru trek provides the optimal pace to experience Arusha National Park's diverse flora and fauna. By spending an extra night at Miriakamba Hut on the descent, trekkers avoid leg fatigue and enjoy leisurely afternoon wildlife walks along the crater floor.

Tour Schedule

Day 1 — Momella Gate to Miriakamba Hut (2,500m)

Hike through open grasslands and acacia woodland teeming with wildlife to Miriakamba Hut.

Day 2 — Miriakamba Hut to Saddle Hut (3,500m)

Ascend past the Elephant Ridge and heather zones with panoramic views into Meru caldera.

Day 3 — Socialist Peak (4,562m) & Descend to Miriakamba Hut

Summit Socialist Peak at dawn. Descend to Saddle Hut for hot brunch, then continue leisurely to Miriakamba Hut.

Day 4 — Miriakamba Hut to Momella Gate & Return to Moshi

Descend via the southern route passing the Fig Tree Arch, waterfalls, and wildlife herds.
